Allied Pilots Association Announces Election Results
Capt. Eric Ferguson Elected to Serve as President

FORT WORTH, Texas (May 31, 2019) — The American Arbitration Association tallied the ballots and certified the results today in the runoff round of the Allied Pilots Association’s national officers election. The newly elected officers will serve concurrent three-year terms beginning July 1.

Capt. Eric Ferguson was elected APA President. He received:

5,240 votes, or 59.43 percent of the total votes cast, while incumbent

APA President Capt. Daniel F. Carey received:

3,577 votes, or 40.57 percent of the votes cast.

Capt. Ferguson is a Dallas/Fort Worth-based pilot who was previously a member of the APA Board of Directors and chaired the union’s Negotiating Committee. He also served as a union official while flying for America West and US Airways before the latter carrier merged with American Airlines. He resides in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Capt. Patrick O’Rourke was elected to serve as APA Vice President. He received 4,413 votes, or 50.47 percent of the total votes cast, while incumbent APA Vice President First Officer Timothy Hamel received 4,330 votes, or 49.53 percent of the votes cast. Capt. O’Rourke is an Airbus A320 pilot based in Dallas/Fort Worth and also resides there. He was hired by American Airlines in 1999 and previously served on the union’s Negotiating Committee.

First Officer Patrick Clark was elected APA Secretary-Treasurer in the election round that concluded on April 30. Hired by American Airlines in 1991, he is a Boeing 787 pilot based in Dallas/Fort Worth and also resides there. A longtime APA volunteer, First Officer Clark’s previous efforts were focused on meeting the pilot members’ information technology needs.

More than 66 percent of eligible pilots cast ballots in the runoff round.

Founded in 1963, the Allied Pilots Association — the largest independent pilots union in the United States — is headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas. APA represents the 15,000 pilots of American Airlines, including several hundred pilots on full-time military leave of absence serving in the armed forces. The union's website is AlliedPilots.org. American Airlines is the world's largest passenger airline.
By the numbers, 8818 voted in the election.
3XP shows 14884 REL seniority (conservative) on seniority list.

14884 - 5240 (EF) - 3577 (DC) = 6067 that didn't vote.

Some pilots are probationary. However, 6067 is still a big number, subtracting the probationary pilots.

You think the Company union is really going to give you a contract on YOUR terms. Go ahead and give me the pummel.

Your "NEW" union President is the next John Praeter.
