Great story, however we all know flights cancel for many reasons. The real telling part here is that AA was just "sorry, flight canceled here is your refund, good luck". Savvy move on Delta to step in and get this done, cheap PR indeed. They basically just converted 41 customers and most likely their immediate family to their customers for life.
