You're missing the point almost entirely. I'm not saying all things made in USA are always the best and nothing made elsewhere can measure up (nor am I saying that "mil-spec" always means superior, that's not the point). But they did do a factory switch several years ago (no idea what they are doing now) and the quality tanked. Prior to that they had been making the DL and USN jackets on the same line in the USA. After the new offshore factory started pumping out inferior products, it stands to reason that the same production line in the USA was still producing the same quality they were all along.

There is no way a Navy Admiral (or even a community college butter bar) would have been issued or purchased that sudden drop in quality, including appearance.

They cheaped out for us, bottom line. Maybe they fixed it maybe they didn't. I don't care at this point I'll never use them again.
