Wanted to add my 2 cents on the latest shenanigans regarding mccPILOTLOG. I too received a reply to my support ticket telling me that mccPILOTLOG would no longer be supported and that I would be grandfathered in to transition to CrewLounge PILOTLOG for the low cost of just three years of subscription.
I am obviously not thrilled at the prospect of having to transition to a subscription service but I was told that I could continue to use mccPILOTLOG. What they didn't tell me is that the automatic import features for my company are no longer being supported.
However what I find most frustrating about the whole experience is that the ability to import data from files in a CSV format has been intentionally disabled with the message:
Import old Data is no longer available in mccPILOTLOG.
New customers can use the free Import function from CrewLounge PILOTLOG.
Existing users should use the backup restore function
This means that current versions of mccPILOTLOG have been intentionally downgraded in an attempt to force people to transition to the new software.
So in summary, the lifetime purchase of my software got me three years of needlessly complex logbook interface at the end of which my version was intentionally downgraded in a software update.
Anyone looking for information on CrewLounge PILOTLOG, be warned. These are the business practices you can look forward to.
