Lets see, EWR was calling for 3.5 hour delays yesterday with quite a few ground stops due to weather. Crews time out, get stuck at outstations, etc which cause delays and cancellations the next day, which is what we have now - secondary cancellations due to flow control and weather. I wouldn't say that's due to a lack of actual crews.
