Not really, just do as the FOM says and call crew scheduling. Tell them you will be unavailable by phone for the next xx hours or minutes, if they have an assignment put it on your schedule and you will be there.

Most schedulers have figured out that means you are enroute to the airport either by air or car with sketchy reception. You will only get a UTC if you don't tell them this and you will only get a missed trip if you are out of position. Personally I've never had a scheduler bat an eye and they always say I will make a note on your schedule about it.
