While that is absolutely true now, that could very well change 5-10 yrs down the road.
There are more mandatory retirements during the next 10-15 yrs than there are total pilots at the regionals.
Unlike booms in the past, that were mostly based on growth, these pilots HAVE to retire.
I'm sorry, but this time IS different than booms in the past. This is simple math, not educated speculation.
That being said, to those that don't have one (and that includes myself)......just get the degree!
Only that the population at the regionals isn't static. There are degreed guys coming in as others are leaving. The regionals can turn out a far better 121 candidate in 12-18 months than the 135/91/91k's can in years.
And I really don't think there will every be a shortage at the majors. We're able to be pretty da"n picky even at Spirit and are turning away very qualified guys with very impressive resumes.
