Yes, pilots always assume they will figure out a way to save the day, that is why they are pilots.

So Expressjet is getting about 4 175s per month, is that correct? If so then Gojet will be grounding 4 per month until it gets them down to 50 seats.

Is there anything in United scope that the type of airplane can only be certified up to 50 seats? American used to have that requirement.

If Gojet cannot fly their 700s with only 50 seats, then I imagine that United and the Union will merely come to an agreement that allows them to continue flying in spite of the scope clause.

Otherwise, Gojet pilots are screwed. Imagine that, it's not like every pilot at Gojet hired after 2008 has not had fair warning via this website.

But none of this is what really makes it funny. What is funny is the fact that there are pilots sitting at home having recently interviewed at Gojet, who are hoping and praying that they get that call that they are hired!
