Only that the population at the regionals isn't static. There are degreed guys coming in as others are leaving. The regionals can turn out a far better 121 candidate in 12-18 months than the 135/91/91k's can in years.
And I really don't think there will every be a shortage at the majors. We're able to be pretty da"n picky even at Spirit and are turning away very qualified guys with very impressive resumes.
You can be now, but in 2-3 years when the big 5 need 4000 pilots a year, things might change.
I don't think anyone understands what kind of carnage that will cause in the pilot job market.
I wouldn't be surprised to see hiring bonuses at ULCC's.
