I take it from the postings that legacy is no longer a consideration for employment. I have two sons heading to the regionals about this time next year, and I have briefed them that the landscape will be different 4-5 years from now. They're both "on campus" college grads. Western Carolina and Wisconsin. If the personnel guys at DAL went to Citadel or Michigan, they will be screwed, therefore voiding the 25 letters of recommendation that will be in the hopper.
If I were hiring, I'd pass on anyone with 25 rec letters. No way I want to fly with someone willing to ask 25 people to spend their time trying to get themselves hired.
