When you've been around as long as I have, you pass on the kool aid and see things as they actually are. Pawning $220 million dollars worth of airplanes to buy anything except more airplanes is not good news for people who want to work for an airline. We will have to see how this story develops. It could either be really good or really bad. Let's hope its for a bunch of new jets.
So from the filing... "The proceeds from the loan will be used for repayment of existing debt on the subject aircraft and for general corporate purposes." So, some of it will be to pay off existing debt on aircraft (probably with better terms) and the rest for whatever they want. Doubt that it's Sunseeker Destin though, but who knows... I do know that Sunseeker II (Destin?) probably has a better shot at being awesome than Sunseeker I.

Haha, funny. FYI, I'm not a "jet kid." Neither jet nor kid. And true, I've only been at two airlines, but that doesn't preclude anyone from knowing what happened in 121 for the last 20 years. I rarely enter any endeavor without knowing full well what the pros and cons are before committing. Sorry that your timing in 121 was not super optimal. However, life is all about your REACTION to things that happen rather than what the actual events are. I know a cubic boatload of pilots your age that went through equal or worse circumstances (i.e. US Air losing pensions, DHL/Comair guys let go, etc) than you did and don't have a negative attitude about everything. That says more about you as a person than it does about the airline industry.

What exactly has the company done to you since you have worked here that leads you to believe they want to throw money away?
