Delta's plan is to just get out of the 50 seat market. Part of the whole reason for the 220 is to reduce the dependency on regionals and start retiring 200s. I am sure as they get a bigger fleet of 220s, Skywest and Endeavor will start seeing 200s retire within the next few years.
They have to maintain a 50 seat market. That’s not optional for several of the contracts with airports, cities, etc. The limit is 135 50 seat aircraft. I believe they can convert a few out those to 70 seaters however it automatically reduces the 450 total by the next January 1st.
I’m asking what is the replacement options for the 200 given they have to keep a 50 seat market.
