Had the VP in the room for Q&A during CQ. He seemed genuinely surprised to learn that FOs were going sometimes 7-8 weeks without getting a call. He also tried to tell us that the Q is “still the fastest way to build time, especially on the captain side.” A few captains who had flown less than 300 hours in a year begged to differ. The only upside is that you can collect a decent paycheck for what’s essentially part time work. I usually try to fly on most of my days off and end up crediting over 100 hrs a month.
