Let's say even if that is the case, what is the problem with a pay bonus for pilots working the holiday? Is it because you wouldn't be able to have the holiday off and get the pay bonus at the same time? Even if it was a smaller number it would have an affect (although a larger number would tend to attract more bidders who go for greenslips now).

Can you actually point to any logic why this wouldn't work? You are making statements of fact that don't really follow with pilot group behavior and then accusing those on the other side of ulterior motives.
