I think some of us are forgetting that bonuses are taxed at a much higher rate then a regular paycheck. You are going to see more money after taxes this way then with a bonus.
The INITIAL withholding rate is higher. At the end of the year when you file, it doesn’t make a difference. You pay/get refunded on the total amount versus what you paid.
