On the 175 in IAH most junior CA is 20 yrs. That will change drastically if/when more E-175's are awarded however.
Please don't use EWR as the metric for this since all the upgrades are going there and IAH and ORD are getting a trickle.
Let me know when our upgrade is down below 3.5 yrs when averaged across all bases. As mentioned earlier, senior F/O's don't want to be left out to dry on reserve in EWR with 11-12 days off a month with 3 days rolled a month. That's a great recipe to go crazy, get a divorce, hate life, or leave the industry.

So now you want to change it? If you think people choose a regional based on when they can upgrade to a certain base you might be slightly mistaken. You are referring to the reason you never upgraded YOUR career.
In the pursuit of actual FACTS, the most Jr captain at IAH is a 7/14 hire and the most Jr at ORD is a 8/13 hire. So 5&6 years, not 8 and 10. Also similar to where the EWR upgrade was only a few months ago.
