The only data I have is that we’re setting records for green slip duty periods. That would seem to be tied to manning if not caused by it. I know NYC construction is causing havoc; did we plus up our manning for this foreseeable hurdle to an efficient operation? I am not aware of any changes, other than NYC below wing personnel posting artificial (early) departure times without notifying the pilots. Nothing like a D-8 ACARS ding at D-18 to fluster and confuse the flight crew...
One thing we did do was cut out the staffing pads and cut hiring. Also cranked up 4 day trips with 8.5ish hour days mixed in to minimize credit. So when it goes to hell, it splatters and takes multiple pilots (that we don’t have) a pile more credit to cover.
I took off with 6 minutes to spare a few weeks ago and ended up blocking 9:21.
Crew cancellations have spiked the last little bit... before we nearly never cancelled. The weather hasn’t changed and ATC delays aren’t anything abnormal for said operation... so, we are left with...
