The many reasons I stated were mainly career progression inhibitors that were outside of their control. Clearly people are going to chase the money and QOL when it comes to where they want to be. There’s nothing particularly exciting or fulfilling being the CA of a 145 for 20 years going back and forth from IAH to BTR. Gets a little dry after a while.

Again though, put yourself in their shoes.

- never been an FO (maybe 2 months max)
- making a consistent 6 digit income
- probably have kids that are in or have gone to college
- only 5-6 left before retirement
- Have had airline flight benefits for the family for the last 20 plus years

Lots things about ones life that you really can’t blame them for. Forfeiting your flight benefits to be an FO again while going through a tough training program that barely pays the bills where you will be back on reserve making at least 30% less for the next 2-3 years, again makes no sense. Not an ideal solution for everyone.
