The 7th to last person on the entire seniority list is an mco fo so if you got hired, you’d probably get it fairly quickly...

Most of the trips are turns... then 4 days, 3 days, 2 days... there are some very lucrative 4 days and pretty good turns... there’s also a lot of garbage involving red eyes... there can be 1 premium trip or 10, depending on the severity of the ineptitude at 4545 airport way that day...

I heard from the mco chief 15 months ago that he was told by the big wigs that mco was to double in size the next year to two years... if anything, it’s gotten smaller with the opening of phl...

The flying used to be the best in the whole system in my opinion... now the drop grids are jammed with garbage san, las, sju and den red eyes that are 3 day trips worth between 10-14 hours... there’s a few dip$hits in mco but overall it’s a pretty laid back base with a lot of good pilots and some decent FAs
Pretty spot on. To add my guess on upgrades, unless they triple the size of the base (I believe that’s unlikely) a 4 year upgrade to MCO will not happen for someone hired today. We didn’t even have an MCO base 4 years ago today (though it was about to open) and it’s currently at 3 1/2 years due to a base trade. Take that anomaly out and it’s currently a 4 year upgrade and trending longer. Who knows what the next base will do to that trend. My guess is AUS, TPA, or possibly RSW would make MCO more accessible to junior captains while RDU, CVG, or CLE would make MCO even tougher to get into as a junior captain.
