The XJT training center was physically smaller than it is today when I got hired. It had one sim and one about to be installed. The cabin trainer hadn't been installed yet.
We had a class 0f 36 new hires in indoc every two weeks. We also had upgrades on 3 different types in progress at the same time. All of that while training mechanics, dispatchers, and flight attendants. There was very little, if any delay in training back then.
I'm pretty sure our training center can handle way more than 40 new hires a month now with 2 145 sims (room for a 3rd) and one 175 sim (room for ? more) and a cabin trainer for each.
The capacity is mainly driven by the number of instructors. They are working on that as we speak.
