And as as retiring military, I have the luxury of moving anywhere I want paid by the government. My ideal gig is sitting reserve at home and getting paid. I plan to commute from current location for about 6 months and decide if B6 is going to be my long term plan. If so, I will be moving into domicile. So, considering that as my situation, would bidding Bus still be that bad?
All snark aside, welcome aboard. Glad to have you here at B6.

But in your original post you asked advice on which route would be the best for you as a new-hire commuter to get better QOL which I outlined in my first reply to you. I get it if you have reservations about sitting in the 190 cockpit all day vs the Bus. I'm a 320 guy and I sure as sh!t don't want to get anywhere near a 190.

2 years ago I knowingly chose the 320 as a new-hire that would be commuting because I'd been a regional guy for the previous 15 years and couldn't stand the idea of doing anymore flying like that. So that was my first concern. I knew I'd be on RSV about 6-12 months more than the guys in my class who took the 190, but the flying outweighed that for me personally. It may be different for you.

But I assumed QOL for you meant: being off RSV, getting weekends off to be home with family and not having to give up off days because you couldn't commute home on your last day of RSV. If QOL for you is more about the plane/flight deck/trip variety then yes the 320 is the plane for you.

You might could check out the sims if you know someone over at the training building that could let you in, but when you show up for new-hire training, you're going to bid for plane/domicile the first night you are there. Might be hard to pull that off.

Good luck. Welcome to B6. Go easy on the bluejuice and you'll be fine
