Another thing worth noting is that the rumors indicate failure rate is much higher for direct entry captains vs existing FOs who upgrade at GoJet.
In the past, a prudent strategy might be to go through FO training at GoJet and then put in for your upgrade after you are an FO to lower this risk. Not sure if that strategy still applies with the recent Gojet reduction in flying, which is hopefully short term until they ramp up CRJ550 operations. Also, according to GoJet Instagram, they appear to be opening EWR as a new crew base which would probably be the junior base you might get stuck in as Captain assuming when they say "crew base" they mean pilots as well as flight attendants.

One thing you may consider is that Skywest most junior base on the CRJ is usually DTW. A lot of new hires at Skywest expect to be initially awarded DTW in training but are sometimes able to hold other bases prior to completion of training. Other rumors indicate Skywest training is AQP for initial which GoJet doesn't have, meaning there might be a lower risk for training failures. GoJet at least pays for single occupancy hotels in training which Skywest doesn't do, if you want single occupancy at Skywest in training, you pay for it, or listen to your roommate snore.
