Don't select transition when bidding and just take the time off. DC's aren't paid anyway, so most of the time you just have a BS overnight added that pays 3-4 hours. Pick up a few OT trips to make up the difference for much less work.
Im glad you bring this up. I emailed the union about transition and they said to select transition every time because I would have to fly it anyway the difference was gettin paid for any conflicts or not. That I would end up flying the rest of the awarded trip for the next month regardless so might as well select yes.
If it’s up to me, they can drop the entire trip for the new month that touches the one for the previous month, but they tell me that’s not the case even if I select “No” on transition.
