The 99% answer here is they are hand-in-hand.
That is the way it was under the past system when they brought you to OKC to interview and then walk right into the technical interview and then out to the flight line to take the flight test.
Under this system I don't expect that to have changed - except for a different way of doing the panel/HR interview and technical test (no flight evaluation)
