What in the world are you talking about? Everyone knew they were going to hire an initial cadre, and it’s been discussed here for a long time. Hell, even K4ALPA said there will be an initial cadre. Not the mention the latest 777 captain bid was pretty darn junior.
So what that they hired a couple guys to play captain for 270 days. It was agreed upon by the union (all of us) when the contract was signed. If you want to be a captain on brand new equipment, you either have to bend over and kiss the ring, or be patient.
