I miss read that then. I don't think even with 490 that keeps up with attrition for the year. So YoY we are a smaller pilot group with more airplanes and more block hours flown. Talk about a massive hit to QOL.
2018 had 353 planned age 65 retirements, but 473 actually left, so 33% more than planned.
2019 has 448 Age 65 retirements on the books, so using the extra 33%, its probably more like 596.
From Jan-Sept this year, 384 folks have left the list so far. Aveage has been 43 per month.
43/month x 4 remaining monhts = 172
384 + 172 = 556 so it appears we are on track for about 25% more than planned for 2019.
If we only hire 490 this year, we will be approx 69 new hires less than attrition.
