Once you’re available at 00:01, are you on the hook until 24:00? So, once you start a five day, long call group of days, are you assignable from 00:01 the first day to 10:00 the last day?

It won’t work for me if I can get called at 19:00 for a 07:00 show the next day with my commuting options.

Thanks
Correct.
Though you can be assigned a 2pm report on your last day for example. You are automatically released at 10am if you've not been assigned a trip...
Thats the risk with LC. It's not a good deal for some people. You do need to think through the timelines and travel options. It's mostly pointless to bid for if you'll just have to spend the 5 days in your crashpad anyway.
117 wise, you're actually not on duty per se. You get the call from CS at any time, day or night; and put into rest for 12 hours. You are not in rest following a trip, just contactable. I've been called at 8am after blocking in at 5am and given a 8pm report.
The good news is, that with the growth we expect; you're probably not going to sit RSV for long.
Something else to consider is the character of the trips in each base. PHL is ~50% day trips for example; hight credit Punta Cana, San Juan et al, as much as 19 to 20 days off..
ORD folks seem to love their trips. I still can't find where to meet the hotel van there...
LAS is predominantly Redeyes. You're welcome to those..
Best
