I agree, it was amazing to me how I wanted EWR, but got awarded CLE, and the class right behind me, literally got out one week after us, most all got EWR. I just couldn't understand it, but I was lucky to only have to do 3 weeks in CLE, made me appreciate driving 15 minutes to work even more. Also when I commuted to CLE there was usually 60 or 70 seats open, and it was a super quick flight, I can't imagine doing some of the commutes of some of you guys especially x-country
I dont know if this was your case, but the vacancies are looked at on a month by month basis...... Classes that started or popped out of training toward the end of a month got leftovers...... Classes that started or popped out of training toward the beginning of the month got first dibs on new vacancies...... Therefore, my guess is that you were a late part of the month and next week was the new month...... Hope that explains it.....
PS tries to give everyone first choice but it is impossible to predict the movement of 3,000 pilot bids...... Bids change all the time..... You'd have to be able to predict the bid of everyone above you...... When you can do that, they will tell you with 100% certainty where you will go.
