Why are the minimums so high for a single pilot aircraft? Seems you guys would have a much easier time filling the FO seats if you lowered the mins to a level that doesn't put you in competition with operators paying much higher with the same or similar hour requirements, and in aircraft that require the SIC. Is there a contract and does the SIC get a PIC type so they can at least log the time?
SICs will get a PIC type rating.
Training contract for 12 months and its prorated per month.
We run two pilot crews for all flights for safety.
In regards to the SIC minimums, I agree that they appear high. I wish we could lower them. It would make our lives much easier. However we are a Wyvern Wingman certified operator and our mins are predicated on Wyverns standards and the requirements set by some of our partners.
