Because 1400 years ago, the founders of Islam decided to create a Sunni/Shia hatred of each other that would eventually lead to Iran setting up a puppet government in Yemen which would lead to a Gulf coalition to bomb Yemen for over four years which would then lead to Shia Iran, through their puppet Shia government in Yemen, to launch a drone attack on Sunni Saudi Arabia which would do damage to oil output in Saudi Arabia which would, in turn, lead to a disruption in world oil supplies which would then lead to an increase in oil prices...all to affect United Airlines contract negotiations with ALPA in 2019. Pretty convenient.
Or because the company knows that a delay in signing a contract could allow for a global/domestic event to occur that is detrimental to our industry. Great scape goats for a sub par contract offering and they look like they are trying to negotiate in good faith given the “difficult economic conditions”, and we are just being unreasonable and unfair to our coworkers.
