There are clear and concrete details to this program of sorts. There may be a few grey areas down the line but for the most part, it’s written in stone.

My conclusions to this program:

It was designed by the UAX carriers and united to a.) lure unsuspecting new hires to UAX carriers vs any other regional b.) designed to meter (slow) the overall attrition (no less than 24 months).

It’s not a guaranteed interview by any means. You apply, get selected (by what means, who the heck knows?), interview, and sit in a pool attempting to keep your nose clean for no real specified amount of time.

Regarding the interview, it’s a panel review, technical assessment, and a personality test (hogan?).

So let’s get this straight, you work for endeavor, Skywest, Gojet, Republic, Compass etc. You apply at UA and a week later they call you. You go through an interview ( which I’m assuming is the same exact interview applicants of the Aviate program go to) and shortly after they offer you a job and class date. After which you can call in sick and use your vacation how you would like.

You work for XJT, Commutair, Mesa or Air Wisconsin. Wait 24 months, apply, get selected, interview (the same way as everyone else), get offered a job, keep your nose clean for some amount of time, get a final review and then a class.

I’ve gotta be missing something. Seems like a no brainer to go to any other airline if you want to get an interview and CJO with UAL.
