I hate it when you guys talk behind someones back while you’ve been buying your boats and cars and stuffing your 401k. Not at all. My first regional job paid 12K/yr. Then when I upgraded it shot up to 18K. 10 years later it just eclipsed 55K with massive amounts of hustle on my part. And the best part? Ten years after I got hired at UA, I wasn't even making 85K while on airbus reserve while under Tilton's wet dream contract.
To me, the reality of the regional industry is that you guys are now making a hell of a more then we did when we were there, particularly Captains. You're also flying better, safer equipment and to more (and better) cities. And you got a hell of a windfall after 9-11. Yes, regional pay and working conditions suck. None of us want to do that again. But you're likely to find very few of us who are willing to give up a thing to airline management ever again. And if that means Scope relief for you or The Chief Troll on the other thread, that's too bad.
