Not really sure how everyone digressed to whether or not a day-in-the-life of a regional pilot is hard or not.
2 things to add while we’re off topic.
1.)It’s not so much the job that’s challenging but rather the lifestyle. Junior reserve and senior line holder is night and day.
2.) Confidence, competence and experience vary greatly in all pilots. As an airline captain, it’s part of your job to build all 3 of these qualities within your FOs.
If guys are complaining about the level of difficulty day to day, maybe some of the blame is on us. Compassion goes a long way. It’s not just one of those things you list on your personal qualities during an interview.
