Just to be clear you chose to deny the jumpseat. When ALPA first established the concept of the jumpseat the first tenants were that it never be withheld or politicized regardless of differences between pilot groups.
One of the key reasons for that is regardless of what we think about Captains authority management in the end owns the jumpseat. When pilot groups make decisions like the SkyWest pilots just did the repercussions can be huge and cost everyone a valuable tool.
