Theoretic example, lets say the reserve guarantee is 78, and you have the first 15 days of the month off, if you flew all 15 days (impossible cause of regs I know) you’d get that pay you flew, plus the 78 reserve guarantee on top of it for like 160 hours, to only fly as much as you would anyways if you flew on your on call days. You essentially swap your on days to your off days.
For lineholders it’s double pay so you can make a lot but you’re hustling.
At united, if on reserve and you fly on your days off, you get 50% extra pay for that flying and also get those days off reinstated wherever you want them in the month.
