Basically these two are doing what they’ve always done. UPS settling in with the current market drivers (AMZN and e-commerce at-large) just as they did at the dawn of the automobile age, and FedEx is looking for innovative solutions and untapped revenue sources as they did when it all began. Can they supply customers with something they didn’t know they needed all this time? That’s the key to the company’s future success.

I like the return network they are launching with Walgreens and the partnership with Target/Walmart to handle e-commerce logistics. Getting these retail giants in the game along side Amazon will further business for everyone and squelch the growth trajectory of amazons air and ground logistics network.
