Real estate is most definitely a great investment. My only issue with it is being unable to cash out when you need it if the economy goes south. Same issue with brokerage accounts to a degree except you CAN sell it’s just at a fraction of what you might want or need. That being said given the choice I would choose real estate too!
Again....a company paid, negotiated retirement not a 401k match. We have guys going out at 180k a year. 401k is foam on the beer. Rentals suck for the long haul. Been there done that.
