I live in memphis and I like it! It is actually financially cheaper for me to live in mem and commute every weekend from NY. I rent a room and BUY airline tickets to go home. Yup, my 1900 sq ft peach colored brick house costs me less than a grand a month. With everything! Insurance and utilities. Yup.
Car insurance? yeah, $1200 a YEAR. FULL coverage.
TWO cars - both BMW's.
YUP. Poperty taxes? hmmm 1300/yr.
Income tax? its about, I think around.......oh yeah, ZERO. No state income tax.
I spend 500/mo on airline tickets and its still worth it.
My house in the tristate would be 400-500k easy.
I'D RATHER GO BACK CRASHPADDING AT THE SWAN IN LINDEN THAN LIVE IN THE TRISTATE PERMANENTLY.
Oh AND my FAV:
walking to the range with my SKS and my SIG Sauer and waving to the sheriff with the rounds I bought at Wal-mart.
