If there are serious about CLT not being a clustermuck they should design it like this.

Three East/west main terminals with people movers up and down them and a bridge (in green) across them like DEN has. Or you could make an underground tram like ATL, PIT, DEN etc but that would be a lot more money for not that much time saved. Build the bridge first then work on the tunnel.

This would allow flow to/from gates without being backed into an alley and both sides to get pushed as once with additional traffic taxing by. Also it would allow expansion if required of another additional terminal down the line.
