You can bet that management will drag their collective feet as long as possible with the current contract. Its what they have done to maintenance times three. By the time RLB clock runs out, if ever, they will sign deals only to do just what you said..."costs are too high and its time to reorganize." This is many years into the future completely independent of labor actions. ****ed off passengers it doesn't matter. Apathetic workers it really doesn't matter. Accept this and you will make your life much easier.
