When I started here I ended up with a long training gap & wanted to travel with the family. I called the Pilot Service Center & they basically processed my request the same day. YMMV, but people here are pretty cool & if you have a pressing need, they’ll usually do what they can to take care of you. But otherwise, yes, you should be able to submit your info on Day 1, and it takes a few business days to process.
