Maybe Republic doesn't do this but my company takes high profile incidents and "unpacks them." Using reports from the crew and FOQA data, the safety department builds a narrative of the event and puts it out to the pilot group 2-3 months later. Done all in the name of enhancing crew awareness and readiness to deal with emergencies.
The FAA mandated EET Training administered in the sim is extremely basic in nature. Making the claim EET Training "checks the box" and therefore there is no need for an internal company discussion about this event is preposterous.
I could be wrong, but I think he/she was referring to the reason they were in a bank. Banking the aircraft to reduce lift is the EET recovery procedure for a runaway pitch trim. I don’t think they were implying that it shouldn’t be looked into further.
