I will refuse that MEL all day long especially if it's on the Captain side. I challenged mx one time, "so you want this plane to fly today in hard IMC and the captain isn't allowed to fly with this MEL?" Response was, I didn't think about that.
I think that is the worst MEL we have.... worse than an ECU out.
