This is just proof of how eager people are to get out of the military. They are surrounded by peers that tell them the is “the grass is greener” and the QOL is better in the sense that it is “apples to oranges.” (Yes even at AA...)

Most do their homework/research (domicile consideration, etc) but for most part it’s the goal of landing at a major by shotgunning their apps everywhere as soon as possible and worry about the fine details later once a CJO is in hand even if the airline’s domiciles might force a commute. Any job is better than no job.

A majority of the homework is spent doing basic interview prep (even more so if they have interview opportunities at Delta/FDX) although there are a few that will get into the weeds on this PBS/Vacancy/AE/MOAB/whatever stuff.
