This ain’t 2005 with nobody hiring, everybody furloughing, and guys who had worked for honest-to-God major airlines losing pensions they had worked a couple of decades to earn.
I do think that if Compass goes under, Frontier’s recruiting problems are going to be solved for a year or two though, since the TSH flow agreement with them was primarily designed to LIMIT the attrition from Compass to Frontier, not to facilitate it.
So it’s your choice. Roll the dice and stick around and see if the seniority you already have is going to prove valuable or get a jump on everyone here by establishing seniority elsewhere. Only time will tell which was the better decision. My bias is that as long as I can log 70 hours a month here I’m probably going to do precisely that, unless/until one of my apps to a major comes through.
YMMV.
It's definitely a total bummer for me and a lot of people. It's not like anyone wants to leave and make a lateral move. It's too bad this happened, I would have enjoyed sticking around for a while and building some pic time at cpz. Sadly I think in the next 2/3 months there aren't gonna be enough people left to cover the flying, even with planes going away and it's gonna get ugly. I tried to stay optimistic but it's time to move on and roll the dice again
