you are not only within your rights but no one (within the union) will know, let alone call you to task for it. If
you want to do your bit
to impede the process for improving
your contract, go ahead, only,
you will know the truth on how you failed to do your (little) bit to assure a fair and reasonable contract.

Being part of a group is tough for some people. Collective action, self sacrifice (if you can call
not working or days off, sacrifice) and working toward a common good/goal. Some people can only deal with looking out for #1.
