as an aside, if any of you folks were in my shoes, would you go to XJT or Republic as things stand today? my end goal is United so that's why I was leaning towards XJT, but any of the big 6 would be fine and I'd rather not spend 2-5 years working for a company that's antagonistic to its pilots.
If United is your goal it seems you can come and interview within a year and see if you can get a slot in the Aviate. If you make it good on you, if not any other regional will take you. Going to Republic it may take much longer time to get that 1 on 1 time with United. Although the Kool Aid seems stronger at YX.

The committee put themselves in this position last year by agreeing to the contract without a guarantee the company would come back to the table in good faith. Managements job is to keep cost low and get new hires. They are currently accomplishing that and have no true reason to make a change as of now. So they are stalling talks across the board with Mx, FA’s, and Pilots. No one should be surprised.
