I have no idea how much to ask for as a daily or total contract rate. Can anyone advise me on what I should be asking for? I am in between jobs so the timing is good for a short term project. There is also an opportunity for this to turn into a long term thing.
You'd better bring this question to PPRUNE:

UK based but lots of detailed Africa information from people who are still flying there so they should be able to help you better. Just be prepared for some serious grilling about this little adventure.
