If you need 100 hours a month to survive then you probably need to do some sort of financial changes. Sell a property or two. Sell the cars. Get rid of car payments etc...
the sooner you leave the regional you’ll be better off. American Airlines has the same low quality of life regionals have but with double the pay.
My .02 is to budget your expenses on 74 hours.
You’ll be 1000 times happier. Your family will be too.
You need seniority to reap the benefits of soft time.
This job isn’t healthy. The less time you spend here the longer you’ll live.
Well the first year will likely be about a $45-$50K pay cut. We can survive it but if I can mitigate the financial hardship in any way I will.
My income is already about the same as most group 2 mainline Captains minus the 401K contributions. I have a lot of obligations and responsibilities so I work hard to make sure my families needs are met. But I would also like to retire somewhere between 55-60.
