It was the right thing to do and we all have more money for it.
And had we not took the raises, we would have not only lost all that money, but we would still be ‘negotiating’ with a brick wall convinced that a slight hourly increase would fix it all.
Our leverage was bleeding pilots....we still are. We have the same if not more leverage now. Because we can say “I told a few $/h (even $10) wasn’t going to help r&r (recruiting and retention)”
If management wants to keep their jobs, they need to open up talks again.....or open up ‘listens’ this time.
AA isn’t going to let them be this understaffed (and shrinking) this summer. They will either find new management that will negotiate, or merge us. But they can’t allow us to continue to bleed like this and it’s only going to get worse...
